Izzy

Pedro's little niece.

Annie, Savannah and Casi

The cutest little freckle faced girls this side of the Mississippi!

Priceless

This was one of my favorite photos of our kids and it almost didn't get captured.

A Mother's Dream

This is a photo that a mother dreams about. I don't think I need to say more.

Casi and Pedro March 28th, 2009

Casi and Pedro were married this past Saturday in the Newport Beach temple. They looked so beautiful and the day was perfect. In this photo Annie and Savannah are holding the train to Casi's wedding dress. They are my nephew's oldest daughters.

Happy Spring To Everyone That Reads This

Let me tell you. We are ready for spring around here. There is no sadness in seeing Frosty the Snowman melt away and not appear for another 9 or 10 months! He can take the carrot nose, button smile and lump of coal eyes with him and I won't even press charges.

Nothing Lights Up The Brain Like The Presence Of A Friend

I attended a seminar on Thursday that was excellent.  The title of the conference was Alzheimers, Memory and Dementia. You would think that 5 hours of this topic would be depressing but it wasn't.  I learned so much and could have stayed longer.
The title of this post was my favorite quote from the day.  There are many ways to strenghthen the brain starting from today.  Being social is a key ingredient to good brain health.  Other ways to have good brain health are through exercise, healthy eating, and decreasing stress.

Jordan in love!

Recognize anyone

This time last year visiting Casi.

I'm glad that I made it home from this California trip last year.  I was ecstatic that I got home alive after being on those insane freeways.  Too fast paced for me!

The Three Dozen Roses Bouquet

I get a smile ever time I see Joni's wedding bouquet.  Aren't they a cute couple!..

Two Years Ago Karli

Those cement chairs were quite comfortable on that hot day.

Dodson Memories 2006

Three years ago already.  Look how many changes have happened since then. 7 new children. It's time for  another reunion!

You're my swimming pool on an August Day.

Yesterday I told Tom, "you're my swimming  pool on an August Day".  I heard it in a song I was listening to.  The challenge was for him to identify the song with those lyrics.  Well, he didn't figure it out so I had to reveal it to him this morning.  We rolled up the carpets in our front hallway and danced to this song on our hardwood floor.  Have you figured out the song?  Michale Bublee- You're My Everything.

Here Comes the Sun Again!

Today I was greeted by blinding rays of sunshine as I opened my eyes. My husband selected Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles and hit repeat on the computer for a little background music while I was getting ready for the day.  By the time I made it to the computer I had thought of a few additional lyrics to add between the lines of George Harrison’s sweet twangy song.  (One of my personal favorites)

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it’s alright. (I say it’s incredible and give me more!)

Little darling, it’s been a long, cold lonely winter. (You can say that again)

Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here. (It feels like the longest winter in my lifetime and it really is the longest winter in my lifetime.)

Here Comes the Sun here comes the sun and I say it’s alright. (Wall Street, Main Street, Your Street, we are resilient, we’ll be alright.)

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces. (It’s more like a huge grin and I’m looking for my sunglasses.)

Little darling, it seem like years since it’s been here. (Oh, he did say that again)

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it’s alright. (Oh yeah, now I know why those folks in the sunny states have so much energy.)

Sun, sun, sun, here we come (5 times). (You could say that 787 billion times and I wouldn’t mind)

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting.  (That 2 foot icy glacier in my backyard is hanging around a little too long.)

Little darling, it seems like years since its been clear. (Yep and the mist is trying to cover up the warm rays already.)

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it’s alright. (No controversy here.  We’ll be alright.)

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, it’s alright, it’s alright.   (I’m thinking lawn chair, a good book and sitting on the beach)

It’s amazing how a little sunshine and a good song can revitalize the human soul. The clouds roll in and so does reality.  I must get on with my day and wait a few more months to hit the sandy shores of Lake CDA.

Thank you George Harrison for writing the perfect song for the long, cold lonely winter of 2008-2009.
