"Courageous and sideline"
When I was opening the wish card and saw the Courageous, I wasn't sure what it means to me. But I know Tom & Shauna sent me this by spiritual prompting. This question hasn't been away until the institute I attended last night. The lesson last night is General Conference address " The way of the Disciple " by President Uchtdorf. I was learning " It is not enough merely to speak of Jesus Christ or proclaim that we are His disciples. It is not enough to surround ourselves with symbols of our religion. Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessings of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes." At that moment the word " sideline" stands out to me and quickly the courageous came to my mind as well. I realized Father was answering my question.
Being knowledgeable about gospel is important but to take actions to live in the gospel is more important. There is the truth in front of me and I know it is true. So, I have to do it instead of standing on the sideline and just watch the others playing the game. I should be in the game too. Sometimes change and become a better man need courage and brave, but just have faith in savior and Father, believe they would help.
I am grateful for the blessing of this learning from " courageous and sideline".
